Cover sofas and loveseats with cotton slipcovers in white cotton or denim for an informal look. Add seashell accents throughout the home with candles, netting as well as on tabletops. Lighthouse accents add a nautical look for homes near the shore. Look for old antique, distressed dining tables, and add mismatched wooden chairs. With porches surrounding most sides of the low country cottage it seems sensible to add rocking chairs and porch swings to consider advantage of the breeze. Heavy, leather furniture is effective in the Spanish style. Match dark, wood tables for any substantial look. Use large rugs over terra-cotta tiled floors for a soft feel underfoot. Add tropical plants like ficus and aloe to clay pots and distribute within a room.
